This game is based on the popular TV show, Jeopardy. It can be tailored to any math topic, the best time to use this game is when you want to review concepts before a test. Rather than split students on teams, encourage to get a "high score", make sure to give ample time for all students to solve each problem.

Materials:

  • Projector

  • Jeopardy board (https://jeopardylabs.com/ has a ton of great premade boards or you can use the template to make your own)

How to play:

  1. Choose a student to select the category and point value they would like to solve.

  2. Give all students 3-5 minutes to solve the problem.

  3. Choose a random, different student to report their answer.

  4. Ask the class to show with their thumbs whether they agree (thumb up) or disagree (thumb down) with that student's response. Go with the majority.

Special Note:

Make sure students are supportive of each other if the student who responds has an answer different from the rest of the class.
